Teething problems

Two of my new friends are new mothers adn their babies don't teeth at all, their babies drool a lot tough and have to wash 5-8 bibs a day or they use a plastic bib with scoop, that easily collects half a cup. Those are the very same babies who refuse to take a dummy or just spit the dummy miles away. Mine doesnt have much drooling problem but we have teething problems. He still puts everything in his mouth. Our brand new wooden cot has tooth marks all over the side rails and the front/back cot panels. HE also teeths on our fabric sofa and pulls up the floor mats and teeth them like biscuits. He even chews his toes and feet! He also tries to teeth the glass door and ends up pressing his lips and face onto the glass, his face looks really funny when I view from the other side of the glass.

10 months 18 days

He is walking forward and sideway holding onto the furniture, sofa, windows and toys etc, and can stand on his own for a short time while teething a rattle. I notice he can change positions from sitting to kneeling. Some signs of use of tools including using a rubber hammer to hit the blocks and he bangs two toys together. He crawls with both hands holding different toys. He expects the TV to be on when I hold the remote controller, he also presses on the green button of the TV remote controller to switch on and off the TV. He can climb up stairs and up the slide! He can pick his food and feed himself when offer a bowl of bread pieces, and can drink from a strawcup, I am still offering him milk from a sippy cup and bottle with a training spout. No signs of any stranger shyness yet, or maybe he is not shy at all!!

10.5 months - hair is getting long

Nothing new these days except he seems to be feeding much less and less frequent. He is now down to only 16oz to 21oz of milk per day. People say crawling(and walking) babies dont feed much. He is almost always on following schedule, milk from a sippy cup and sips of water from a straw cup:

6:30-7am Wake
7:30am Breakfast 3.5oz-4oz breastmilk plus cereal (OR 7oz of milk)
9-11am Morning sleep
12:00pm Lunch 7oz of milk plus 1-2 serves of solids
2-5pm Afternoon sleep
6pm Dinner 7oz milk plus 1 serve of solids
8pm/9pm Bath then Night Sleep 10hrs-10.5hours

We have been using reusable all-in-one pocket nappies at home and occasionally use disaposable nappies when going out. The cloth nappies aren't too bad when using with nappy liner, we can just slide the nappy liner together with whatever on it down to the flush and then dry pail only the nappy cover and the nappy stuffer until our next laundary wash. As with disposable nappies - he is completely done with the Medium size which are too small for him, it is extremely difficult to close the velcro tabs or the solids would leak all over his back. Not sure when he will grow out of the cloth nappies.

So my hair is getting long....

the 10th month!

Jasper weighs over 10kgs now, I have tried many different baby carriers, kids carriers, hip carriers and backpacks and none of them makes me feel comfortable carrying him, i have tried so many types i can write a book about them, usually I bought them second hand from the internet and sell them on when I think they are no good. He has been a little funny these days such as scrunching up this face and eyes, practising his high notes like singing with non-specific sounds, bouncing up and down in his cot like one a trampoline, teething on teh cot rail etc. He can now successfully drink from a straw cup (yes he can suck from a straw and then swallow, and we gave him a bit of vitasoy!), picks food from a plastic bowl accurately and self feed though i have to hold the bowl for him or he would swat the bowl to the floor. He can do minimal shape sorting - he can fit a circle block in the circular hole, not yet on the other shapes. Many friends have babies who have had to stand for a few months before walking independently, given Jasper is so heavy on the upper body I would be happy if he can walk on his own by 1.5 yrs.

Jasper, the 9th month

We had another swim class this morning, however, we arrived a little late and joined in the class only halfway and didn't get enough exercise. We then took Jasper to the nearby baby pool so he can paddle and crawl in the shallow water.

Jasper is 10 months old today. He has been climbing in and out of the toy box for the last few days: (i forgot to mention he did a sommersault while getting out of the toy crate, it was a complete 360 flip, landed on his buttom and didnt cry at all as it nothing had happened)

He is saying lots of things like dada, daddy, a-goo, papa, mama, eysh, ate, heysh, yesh, yes etc.. He is crawling really fast now and often puts everything in his mouth. He has got two new bottom teeth in the last weeks. He is supported standing and has switched off the TV a few times by pressing the on/off switch. We have fenced off part of the living room as his giant playpen because we dont want him to go where he shouldnt be. Sometimes we take him to friends place to explore other toys or to the park. his favourite food is cottage cheese, spinach cheese pastry(filling only), bbq chicken, bread and grapes. He is now down to 1 breastmilk feed per day and 2-3 formula feeds supplement with his favourite solids. When we go yum cha he loves having gai bao(chicken bun).
