Just born!


Andrew and Judia are proud to announce the arrival of their newborn son born Monday July 05, 2004. I rang the hospital around midnight to report my contractions and was asked to go there for a checkup just in case. We arrived in the hospital and was told by the midwife that the baby would definitely arrive but I wasn't yet in labour. Andrew went home to bring the hospital bag and by the time he came back i was in the final stage. The baby was delivered by the midwife and he arrived so quickly before the doctor/obs got a chance to see us. Andrew was a little surprised it was a boy as he has been thinking it a girl all the time due to its size. This baby was virtually screaming his way out to this wonderful world. Birth weight is 2.6kg length 46cm. We have given his name JASPER AYDEN a little unusual name but easy to remember. JASPER is also a natural stone.




Name analysis: "Your name of Jasper gives you a clever mind, good business judgment, a sense of responsibility, and an appreciation of the finer things of life. You are serious-minded and not inclined to make light of things even in little ways, and in your younger years you had more mature interests than others your age. Home and family mean a great deal to you and it is natural that you should desire the security of a peaceful, settled home environment where you can enjoy the companionship of family and friends. Whatever you set out to accomplish you do your very best to complete in accordance with what you consider to be right."






His middle name AYDEN means fire. It happened that his father's side of the family wanted to name him "Aydin", and his mother's side of the family wanted him to have a name with "fire" element due to Chinese astrology - the fire element will strengthen this boy. AYDEN sounds similar to "Aydin" and it means "fire", so I chose AYDEN as the middle name. I was going to name him AYDEN JASPER but since Andrew has already got a friend whose son is also called Ayden so JASPER AYDEN seems better. I still haven't managed to think of a Chinese name for him yet.

I was so big that I had to wear a maternity t-shirt. I was still wearing normal clothes at 8 months. We celebrated my birthday at MIL's house and baby would be due in 2-3 weeks, or anytime.

My ultrasound at 20 weeks - we can see the baby's head and limbs etc. It is a little big for date. I want to know whether it is going to be a boy or girl but Andrew wants to be "surprised". We have asked Andrew to leave the room so the nurse can tell me the baby's sex.
