Very busy Jasper !!!

Jasper now wears a pair of size 6 Osh Kosh hard-soled sandals. I take him out quite often to keep him entertained and we have continued to make new friends. Whenever we free-range him at home he would be opening and closing or empting the cupboards, we don't want to say "no" to him whenever he touches something but there is no easy way to displine him at this age as he either chooses to ignore your "no" or simply can't react to it. I really have to train him to hold hand when we walk and I bought a security strap/lead for him. Also, he walked backwards three steps yesterday.

Tidying up for mum and dad

Guess what Jasper is doing there ..... looks like he is reading BRW and TIMES mags already. Well at least there is still some use with the old mags and docos.

Chatswood Library

I took Jasper to the Chatswood Library and it turned out that he wasn't quite ready for it yet so it was better for him to play outside the library with the pigeons. Those are the Osh Kosh Shoes that he's wearing which are meant to be for indoors as they only have soft leather soles, I guess they are ok for grass.

He has been off the bottles for months and I suddenly miss the convenience of bottle feeding - it was simply adding powder to warm water and shake it. Bottles never leak. With cup feeding it is either cow's milk from the fridge and have to find a "magic" way to warm up the milk before serving to baby, or try to mix formula powder in warm water in a sippy cup and the trick is that most sippy cups leak a lot when shaking (milk everywhere) and I can only use a spoon to stir the liquid instead of shaking it.

It is not easy for a person like me who go out all day. If I go out I have the option of bringing fresh milk and an ice pack (and a bottle warmer), or bring a thermo of warm water and formula powder. I now find myself washing baby cups all day even though it was only 2 times or 3 times a day, straws are difficult to wash. So I bought a pack of $1-$2 with 50-100 straws. He is quite ok with hard straws but silicone straws are much softer.

BigFoot

he is walking a lot indoors but not quite ready for outdoor walking. Took him to a store to have his feet professionally measured by a lady using a metal slider and suddenly he is a size 5.5 !! All the pre-walkers in the store go to a max of size 5 only. I found one pair of size 5 close-toed sandals that fit him (without socks) and paid AUD$40 for them, as he needs them for indoor walking, I hope they will last him another month or so until he is walking better. He looks ridiculous without shoes and always has black feet when going to a playgroup or walking/crawling inside the shop or shopping mall. Thing is he is not yet ready for hard-soled shoes. I have many pairs of pre-walkers (soft soled) at home that he either grew out of or not of a good fit.
